One of our most popular and luxurious jewellery ranges at TVSN is Matahina Pearls. Matahina South Sea and Tahitian Cultured Pearls are meticulously selected for their excellent lustre and their high quality. Matahina translates from Tahitian to mean “Tears of the Moon Goddess”.
The man behind the brand is David Norman, a fifth generation pearl dealer. After leaving school in England, he studied the pearl business in Tokyo for two years before migrating to Australia. Here, he worked first for WA’s Kailis Pearl Farms establishing their international distribution, and then he worked for Paspaley Pearling Company as a valuer and head of pearl marketing and sales.
David opened his own company in 2007 selling pearls to the most prestigious American, European and Asian jewellery stores. David set up Matahina pearls in 2007 which allowed him to use his creative flair combining beautiful highest quality pearls with gold, diamonds and gemstones, and today he works with Kate Vivas, a gemologist and designer jeweller at bringing you the Matahina range of exquisite south sea pearl jewellery. Always searching for beautiful pearls, David never tires of the business and loves what he does.
Once you have purchased one of their exquisite pieces, there are simple steps to follow to keep the pearls in top condition and ensure they last for generations. Check out these simple steps below.
For a limited time only you have a chance to win a stunning Matahina Pearl Collection valued at over $15,000*! Simply purchase anything from TVSN between April 1, 2013 and May 12,

Do you have a Matahina piece? What other brands would you like us to feature?
As a lapidary (jewel cutting) hobbyist, I have found it more than
just a little fun that particular jewelry store chains arre hyping “chocolate” diamonds,
like they are something specific. NOT!
Good to see David Norman on TV (finally doing some work) after all these years. Best regards from Graham Eastwood at Noosa.
